In 2020, we are abstaining from solid foods for 20 days (Monday, January 6 through Sunday, January 26) during the daytime hours, eating solids only in the evenings during dinner meal times. By doing so, we exemplify our desire to foster a physical hunger that represents our spiritual hunger while making space in our day’s activity to commune with God in prayer wherever we are. We believe that feasting on God surpasses any meal.

The following is 5 Prayer Points – each representing actual Scripture references that will serve as our marked times of prayer. We are asking that you set reminders on your smart phones or other devices so that you can intentionally engage prayer and join others across the city and state that are praying at this exact time.

Daily Prayer Points

7:14 am

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

2 Chronicles 7:14

This morning, Father, we turn to You with humble hearts to pray and seek Your face. We turn away from any wicked ways within us, believing that You will hear from heaven and forgive our sins and heal our land.

10:02 am

And He (Jesus) said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.

Luke 10:2

Lord, we agree that Your world is full of people who are ready to know You, but that those available to represent you and tell about you are few. Therefore, we come before You, Lord of the harvest, asking You to stir hearts and send out laborers – representatives - into the communities and states and nations that You love.

12:32 pm

Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Luke 12:32

Father, we come to you boldly, as our Shepherd, believing that it is your good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Let it be. We agree.

3:33 pm

Call to me and I will answer you and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

Jeremiah 33:3

Father, we confess that You know all things and that we know only in part. You say that if we call to You, You will answer. We are asking You, today, to tell us great and hidden things that we do not know that You would want us to know, for we want to know You more.

7:07 pm

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.

Matthew 7:7-11

Father, we thank You that You are a generous and good Father. You are a giver of good gifts. You are a perfect Father who listens and hears the persistent requests of Your children. Thank You for knowing our hearts intimately.
