One of the greatest joys in life is welcoming a child into a family whether it is through the birth of a child or through adoption. We as a body of believers also want to rejoice with each family and assure them of our support, love, and encouragement as their child develops and grows. We view every child as a gift from God and want to honor that life by publicly presenting them to our church congregation in a time of celebration and rejoicing. We know that Jesus honored children and the disciples brought children to him for him to lay his hands on and bless them. He said in Matthew 19:13-14, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”
15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Fasting is choosing to abstain from food for one reason only, it is to hunger and thirst for God above all else. Desperation doesn’t move God, it moves us. Fasting is a discipline. As a church family we begin each year with a fast, dedicating ourselves, our families and this community to our Father.
Fasting is coupled with prayer. As you pull away from food and entertainment and choose to commit time to prayer, you find that you are more keenly aware of what you are hearing from Elohim; Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit.
There are many types of fasts. How you choose to fast, or what you choose to fast is your decision. It should be a sacrifice. This can be a family commitment, and your kids can fast too, by fasting sweets, or unhealthy foods for 21 days. You can fast several things, like TV watching, or social media. The goal is to seek the King, to grow in intimacy and relationship by setting aside time and developing an appetite for one thing. There are benefits to fasting, physically and spiritually.
Only you can answer the question, are you hungry?
The Word of God directs the Church on two perpetual ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ. The first, baptism, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life, and is a testimony to all that the person belongs now to Jesus. Baptism allows believers to identify with Jesus and is performed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
If you have made a profession of faith and never been baptized; we would love to help you take that next step.

Discovering Bridgeway is more than just a membership class. In most families there are rhythms, language, and history that are unique to that family. Bridgeway is no different. We want you to know who we are and what makes us family, what makes us unique. In our three weeks together we will explore our history, vision, mission, core values and beliefs, governance, and our culture. We have designed these classes for those of you who want to move past just being a regular attendee and who truly want to be all in, who want to be family.
The Discovering Bridgeway class begins at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall at Bridgeway Church.

Prayer Servant Training is designed to equip you in both the knowledge of scripture and the ways of Jesus, so that you too can see a demonstration of Father’s works. The four required classes include both theology and methodology. The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray. They saw in him a life of abundance that came from private times of communication with Father and public demonstrations of grace. Prayer is core to the life of a disciple.
